Searching de Hochepied Larpent in the newspapers brings up a lot of information, hope it will help you.
Thank you.
It looks like 1 of my family perhaps worked for them as she had some rooms there but got killed in the war 1941 in London, think they may have had a place in London somewhere. Still looking into it.

I guess the "house in the gardens" is Kings Weston House
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kings_Weston_House
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Philip_Napier_Miles
From 1833 until 1935 this was the home of the Miles family, Philip Napier Miles married in 1899 to Sybil who appears to be another sister of Catherine.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XSDT-XH5
 - she was with them in the 1901 census as was another sister so quite likely lived with them or at least visited regularly.
Thank you so much for all your help.

Mrs Jacomb-Hood appears to be her sister.

Reta Jacomb-Hood, neé Henrietta Kemble de Hochepied-Larpent, baptised 16 Nov in Hove, Sussex, was the daughter of Catherine Mary Melvill and Arthur John (8th Baron) de Hochepied-Larpent, and granddaughter of John James de L'arpent and Georgiana Frances Reeves. She married the artist George Percy Jacomb-Hood, Esq., M.V.O., on 28 Jun 1910, in Marylebone, London.

Bev, ty for that. I need to try and find the connection to my family. Looks like the house in the garden is a mansion house but cannot find out what connection if any she had with it, maybe she was just staying there..  Bit more research required I think !!!!

Hi, I am looking for anything on CATHERINE M L DE H LARPENT, I have a letter from her that has an address on it from The House in the Gardens, Kings Weston, Shirehampton, Bristol.
I have found a record that says B 1868 D1953. The only other info that I have it talks about a Mrs Jacomb-Hood who died 16/2/1941, the name may or may not be hyphenated. Any help would be brilliant. many thanks. Rod

Northumberland / Re: ST. Michael Catholic Church Newcastle

Tyne & Wear Archives have film of St Michael's RC church records as follows......

 Baptisms 1873-1968. (Indexed)
 Marriages 13 Oct 1874-15 Sep 1973 ( Not Indexed)
 Deaths 15 Oct 1873- 30 Nov 1983 ( Not Indexed)

The indexes of the baptisms were very helpful as they included child's surname and child's mother's maiden name.

There were plenty Kelly baptisms but none with an Armstrong maiden name.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I could not see a Convery baptism onwards from 24th Aug 1912 up to end of October. (I looked in both Baptisms and Baptism Index)

( There was a Convery baptism 14 Sep 1913- born 19 Aug 1913, of Sarah Ann Cupit Convery, dtr of James and Ann nee Cupit. Godmother Mary Turbitt- annotated that Sarah married William Fullen 1st Aug 1936 in this church )
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Archives have this church as Elswick, rather than Newcastle.

 Michael

I am hoping that you might be able to help me, Got a marriage cert dated 1894 for St Michaels Catholic Church High Clumber (I think it is, not very readable) Newcastle.Would this be the same Church. Many thanks.

FindMyPast send you off (correctly) to the GRO site, and you pay their standard fee.

Ancestry stick a very hefty profit on top.
Good ole ancestry.

My gt grandparents baptised a son whose birth was never registered, he died at a few weeks old and his death was registered. I have his death cert.

This was their first infant death and they didn't make that mistake again.

From 1911 census live births 14, still alive 5, died 9. None of the children that died made their first birthday. The 5 surviving lived long lives.
Ty. Very helpful, so looks like I might try and get certificates. Will try one of the twins and see what happens.  This gets expensive !!
