Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: Can't work out this name

I wonder if it could be John Smith McTear, who is listed as a board game designer on this page:
https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgamedesigner/65239/john-smith-mctear

He's described as a "Solicitor and Author" in the 1911 Irish census.

Here's the link to the book with his signature:

It's from the flyleaf of a book, dated around 1890.

Technical Help / Ancestry - showing as free account
« on: Sunday 16 November 25 07:49 GMT (UK)  »
Hi All,

I've been having a frustrating time with ancestry this weekend. When I logged in yesterday, which I do almost every day my account was showing as a free one ("Make the most of your free account!") although I paid for a 12 month subscription in Jun this year. Indeed when I clicked on my Account Settings I can see the membership payment in the Order history.

I will contact ancestry support when I can, but I thought I'd post here in case it's a known problem with a solution I can implement immediately!

Thanks,
Jon

I'm confused - the only person who posted his name was you - twice!

Having looked a bit more, I really don't think this is the correct Ann G Stephens. It seems to me that the one who married Leslie Frederick Harding was born in 1938 and died in 2015.

There's two marriages for Ann G Stephens..One in Essex 1950  to Royce McGrath  and one in Kent to Lesie F Harding.1960.
Perhaps the Ann G. Stephens who married Leslie F. Harding could be Ann and she emigrated to the US?

As far as I can tell the Ann G Stephens who married  Leslie F Harding stayed in the UK. I think they owned an egg farm near Gillingham and are quite possibly still alive (nothing on GRO index of deaths for either of them).

I checked the Wikipedia article on Ann Stephens to see when her death date was added and whether the person who added it gave a source for their information.

It happened very early on - the article was created on the 16th December, 2006, and the date of death was added three revisions later on the 14th June, 2007, by a user, since banned, called Ruantengyi:
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ann_Stephens&diff=138101446&oldid=99011566

No reason for this date was given. Various people have attempted to remove the unsourced date of death since then, but someone else has always added it back again. The current article uses IMDB as a reliable source and I can't help but think that IMDB probably got their information from the Wikipedia article!
