I had relatives living in Kippagh townland during the time period mentioned in your posting. They had relatives named Foley that emigrated to the area you mentioned. Do you recognize the names McSweeney or Collins?

I happened to revisit this post.  My McSweeneys did have relatives by  the name Riordan. They also had relatives by the name of Ryan. The Ryan I am referring to was a John Ryan. He emigrated to New York City. He and his wife had a daughter Margaret aka Marjorie who was born iin Ireland. When the McSweeneys' descendants emigrated to New York in the early 1900s, some resided with Marjorie.. Is this the same family mentioned in the previous posts?

Cork / Clarksville, Cork
« on: Friday 10 July 15 18:30 BST (UK)  »
I recently came upon an obituary of Cornelius Michael O'Leary from 1911. This article states he was born in Clarksville, Cork, Ireland and that his date of birth was 1830-1840. Can anyone tell me where Clarksville is in the County of Cork and in what Catholic diocese it is located?  Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

United States of America / Re: New York Funeral Home .. Information Please
« on: Monday 19 September 11 15:21 BST (UK)  »
There is a funeral business called Everett Rollins Funeral Home located at 9 Madison St.,Port Washington, NY. The telephone number is (516) 767-1692.  Fresh Pond Crematory is located in the borough of Queens in NYC. Port Washing is in Nassau County, but only a short distance from Queens. I have not been able to locate a web address for the funeral home. There is a cemetery in Port Washington called Nassau Knolls. Perhaps the ashes were interred there.

Cork / O'Connor of Knockyrourke, Meena
« on: Sunday 31 July 11 20:33 BST (UK)  »
Looking for information on the family of James O'Connor and wife Catherine, maiden names believed to be O'Callaghan. I suspect Catherine was originally from Knockyrourke and James from Knocknanack. The 1911 census lists the children as John 8, Nora 7, Catherine 4, and Margaret 1. There may also be a child Julia, born in 1901.  Any assistance would be most appreciated .
