Also try the Historical Directories site. There's a bit of a steep learning curve to master, but you'll get to grips with it in the end. For London, there are different directories ordered by name or classified by profession and you may need the London Suburban or county directories according to how far out you want to go. Use the Period Covered section in the sidebar to home in on the year. To get out of London, click on London in the Search Terms box near the top middle and the Region and Place sections will expand.

Found some info that I needed.  Thanks again for the help.

Depending on area, there was also the Smithfield Meat Market, and earlier the Newgate Meat Market where a lot of butchers provided for Londoners.

Regards
Crowsfeet

Thanks!  I'll look into that!

Do you know where in London they had the shop(s)?

Have you looked for them on census records?

I would suggest trying the London Metropolitan Archives for any possible records of the business.

https://search.lma.gov.uk/scripts/mwimain.dll?logon&application=UNION_VIEW&language=144&file=[WWW_LMA]home.html

Seems to be a long winded web address but it should work.

They lived in Brixton, Canning Town, Tower Hamlet, Islington, and a few other places.

Hello.  My wife's Great and Great Great Grandpas were butchers in London during the late 1800's.  I'm wondering if any know of any records or register I could look at that contains info or addresses of their businesses?

Gideon's first wife was Agnes Tome.  He married Margaret after Agnes' death.

From my research she was born around 1599 and died 1662.
She was married to Gideon Auger in 1629
