Stephen,

I have a Isabella Semple listed as my GG Grandmother born app 1830 and was married app 1850.to John Richard McCauley.

The name Semple and the date is close to your relative.

I believe my family came from around Ballymena, County Down, N.i.
I am not sure about the Ballymena area as my information is not confirmed.

Any connection?

txs, Frank

UPDATE from Frank ( Francis)  John McCauley

I have since discovered that my GG Grandmother's name was  ISABELLA SEMPLE. not Simple.
I think her birth date would be around 1830 in or around Balleymena, County down.
Thank you Jim.
She married my GG Grandfather John Richard McCauley in or around 1850.
I am sure they had more that 1 child. The only record i have is their son
James Patrick McCauley born April 10, 1851 in Ballyknock, County Down N.I. He
died November 5, 1943 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, He married Susanna Law in or around June 1883 in Kilwarlin, N.I.
I believe James Patrick immigrated to Ontario, Canada in or around 1884 /1885.

I cannot get back any further that the above. I have both Ballyknock and Balleymena listed in the family bible.
I would appreciate any info and or connection to the above McCAULEY and SEMPLE families.

I obtained this information from our family bible that is now in my possession.

Fermanagh / County Formana, Location - completed
« on: Wednesday 28 March 07 22:59 BST (UK)  »
I recently found a poem in the family bible dating back to 1831.
In the poem it mentions a land my g g grandfather left. His name was James Tevin.
He mentioned a :
County Formana.
From the shores of Erin we left.
Seeing the shores of Sligo disappear.
Playing along the fair banks of Loch Arin's

i assume he meant County Fermanagh. Can some one please confirm where this Erin is located.
Appreciate your help

Thank You

Frank McCauley

She married Richard McCauley b-1894 in Toronto and he died in 1972.
They are both buried in St Marys, Ontario

From this point gets sketchy.

My great grandmother was Macy Durnie, she married a Patrick O'Flaherty a native of County Monaghan, n.i.
I believe he died Feb 2, 1876
He also had a second wife a Mary Durnie, no dates

There is also a Daniel O'Flaherty listed in this bible saying he died Feb 26, 1900 @ age 90.
He married a Catherine Keane

They had 3 children
Timothy d- Mar 21, 1872
Macy d- April 12. 1872

The above are old notes from a family bible passed on to me.

Any information / help would be appreciated.
