Glamorganshire / Re: Edwards Hall, Cardiff
« on: Saturday 08 June 19 16:00 BST (UK)  »
I'm a new user here and also an Edwards. I've read the entire thread, and am very familiar with all the allegations made here in the US about the marriage of Thomas Nathaniel Edwards and the Downing lady at various dates. Just wondering if anyone who claims to be descended from these individuals has a copy of an actual document that verifies either (a) their existence, or (b) their marriage? Realize the Records office in Glamorgan shows no evidence of an Edwards Hall. Am thinking there are no records anywhere showing these 2 ever existed, not to mention married. Would love someone to prove me wrong because I believe serious genealogy should be based on solid documentation - not hearsay. Thanks in advance!

Carlow / Re: Griffith family in Carlow

I'm new to this site, and am a yank.  So pls forgive any mis-steps.  But am quite taken by this post, as I am researching a difficult ancestor: Joshua Edwards.  I know he was in North Carolina in the 1770s.  I know he married a woman named Rebecca (possibly Ward), and had 10 children between 1755 and 1778 - all presumably in the Colonies.  Beyond that I know nothing at all of his possible origin or family.

If he emigrated to this side of the pond, either alone or with his family, any suggestions on how I might determine when and to where?  I will search ISTG, although their records are spotty.  Does anyone on this site know this family?  If so, would be glad to supply all available info from this end to see if we link.

TIA,
