You're welcome. Can you add anything to that? Do you know of any male Vances from that line who might be persuaded to take a DNA test?

Unfortunately I don't know any of the Vances and the Pedens I do know are no longer with us, my apologies.

Robert (b. 1854), Elizabeth (b. 1859) and Robert Vance (b. 1880) from Ireland (although Robert Jnr was born in West Calder) were living with my Great, Great, Great Grandparents John (1836-1908) and Catherine (1831-1905) at 5 Tay Street, West Calder according to the 1881 Scotland Census.  I'm interested to know if this Vance family are connected to my ancestors and if so, how.  I have family history information going back to the early 1800's, so feel free to contact me with any questions or information.
