HI Folks,

I don't think that i am explaining myself very well.
I have been researching for over ten years and I only have one tree for me. I have over 3k people in my tree.

Have i possibly made a mistake with buying 3 DNA kits for three individuals who are in my tree, (Me, my wife & my Mum?) I did a DNA test years a go when it first came out and then it was a swab which didn't give any clear evidence of cousins etc.

I was under the impression that my DNA test results would go down my mum & dads linage. I then thought that my mums DNA test would go down her Mum & Dads linage and the same with my wife.

The original question which I asked was "Can I host 3 DNA texts on my tree for three different people" and have the DNA unique to the person who did the test?

Cheers,

HI Pheno,

So my DNA code is attached to me in my tree. When i send my mums DNA with it's Code is there an option to attach that code on to my mums part of my tree? And will this show on my mums part in my family tree?

Garry,

So, I can put the DNA codes on my tree and attach it to the correct person?

HI Gadget,

Thank you for your prompt reply.
I'm sorry, but i'm finding it hard to get my head around this. Does this mean that two new trees must be created and then linked to mine?

The question that i asked was if i can host the three DNA tests directly on to my own tree. one for me, one for my mum & one for my wife.

Garry,

Hi folks,

I'm looking for some much valued help and advice.

I bought three DNA kits, one which I have just done and will post this morning. However, I want my Mum to use one and my Wife to use the other. When I send my Mum & Wife's in the post and get the results back, Can I store the DNA information on my tree against their names?

I am the only Family Researcher in the family and both my mum and my wife have no intentions in setting up a tree and If i need to create a Mini Tree for both of them just to get the DNA results, then i feel that it I might lose some DNA matches if they come through.

Can someone tell me if the three DNA tests can be hosted on my tree?

Thanks in Advance!

FAO: Lodger.

This is a bit off topic, but i see that you have interests of McCallum from Oban and I also see some names that I am researching.

Would you be able to contact me? I am related to the McCallums from Oban, Perthshire & Dumbartonshire. I have done extensive research on them and don't think that i have come across your user name before.

I don't know if you are allowed to post your email address on this site, I got a warning for doing it around ten years ago but you can find me on my website or Facebook page "Historic Hamilton". Please feel free to send me a PM.

Regards,
Garry McCallum
