Armed Forces / R.A.F. service record
« on: Sunday 04 March 07 16:21 GMT (UK)  »
Can anyone help. I'm trying to find out service details (on line if possible) of my Grandfather :- Charle Robert Draper. His marriage certificate states that at the time of his marriage he was resident at "Fort Grange" Gosport and he was a private in the RAF. His number was 333051. Anyone got any ideas how to find out more ?

Thanks very much for the very quick reply. This looks to be the right one. The address is the same as the address on the birth certificate of her son Charles Robert in 1896.

Hi there, i wonder if anyone could help me trace "Hannah English" born September 1877 in Bethnall Green. I can not find her on the 1881 or 1891 census. I believe she married William Draper in appro 1896 and they appear together on the 1901 census in Hackney. Any help would be greatly appreciated

This might be a big shot in the dark but here goes, Does anyone out there know anything about Charles Robert Draper the founder of Kingston Press.
I was looking into my family history and found that my Grandfather who was also called Charles Robert Draper (b 1896) was born in Hackney.
He married a woman called Ivy Taylor and they had a son Charles R Draperin 1914. The thing is they lived in Kingston
It is a possibility that the founder of Kingston Press is the Charles R Draper that i am looking for. The company was founded in 1958. Which would have put the founder of Kingston Press at about 44 at the time. I have attached a picture from thier website. Does any one know more about him.

Thanks for that i wasn't sure if i was reading it right.
He lived in the Hackney area of London which doesn't seem to be to far away from Stepney. So it seems to fit.
i would dearly like to find out more about him and possibly to find a picture.
I have just tried http://www.ww1photos.com/LondonRegt.html and alas his name isn't listed.
Have you any ideas where to try next.
Richard

Hi there,
Hopefully the pdf of the card should be attached to this posting. Is the address you refered to the one at the bottom of the pdf "eagle house". And do you have any idea how much the record would cost.

Thanks for the reply, I got that card yesterday, but there is not a lot of info on it. I was wondering if anyone could give guidance on how to carry on the search.
