HI Mcgilleyclan

thanks very much for your reply. I"m sure there must be some family connection here but my mcguire/brady connection seems to be opposite to yours in that brady maried into mcguire family rather than the other way around. Iwill need to research this a bit more.  Have you any idea of dates for your brady/mcguire connections.  My Mary ann must have been born in 1855-1865 and Mary Brady in my tree must have been born in aprox. 1820

Hi Den
There could possibly be a connection. My - John and your - Patrick certainly married at around the same time and could  be related in some way.  I'm sure you have already discovered how hard it is to find out about irish decendants I'm just learning that lesson. However I'll keep trying and anything I find I will share
It may only be coincidence but they both had children named John,Tomas and Mary Ann(family names?)

my great great grandmother BIDDY(BRIDGET?)Smith and husband John(born 1799) were from NOBBER Co. meath Their daughter jane smith  born in1839(possibly in newcastle upon tyne england) and I think her mother died the following year as there is no further mention of her in the census. Jane married Thomas Maguire born1841 in Ballinamore Co. Leitrim. The family ended up in northumberland eventually.
I would be very grateful for any information on the family, or any guidance where to look next
