https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/1051   Glenamaddy  IF they were R.C.

Very helpful - I had mostly been using the birth register before now.

Thanks for educating me on how rootschat works!
I'll have to look through the documentation.

Is it Gibbo you want to contact? You need to make a few more posts, then you can use personal message function. Click on Gibbo's profile and you'll see that last RootsChat activity was a year ago. You'll also be able to call up the other threads to which the poster has contributed  and see if any are relevant to you.
Gibbo should receive an alert that there has been a new reply on this thread.
Replying to my post will count towards your points total. A word is enough.

Thanks for educating me on how rootschat works!

Is there a way to get in touch via this rootschat? as I too have John and Ellen Comer as great-great grandparents, but descended from their son Simon Comer and then through one of his daughters.

Simon,

I have a Michael Comer b1864, son of John and Ellen Comer. Michael went to Sheffield and was  a bricklayers labourer. He married a Margaret Raftery (b 1874) and they raised a family in Sheffield. I have quite a lot of detail on Michaels offspring in Sheffield.

John and Ellen Comer (nee Gibbons) were my Great Great Grandparents. John was born around 1831 and they lived in Glenamaddy. Im looking for more detail on them if anyone can help.
