Thanks Hallmark, I have went through the Irish census many times and fallowed up that Antrim Hughes I found three James Hughes who came out of America with a female and had a father named Henry but none was my James, couldn't believe there was three but as I say I tracked them down and one went back to the states and I think the others died before my grandfather. The problem is I don't have his proper DOB on his death record it is a guess 1908 no month

Hard to know where to post on here as I am looking for I suppose a range of info on James Hughes, I was thinking Hughes in the States would look in Tyrone to find out info on their ancestors and perhaps recognize a James Hughes. I don't know how it all works as I am new,,, where is the U.S board on here I can't see it

Tyrone / James Hughes Philadelphia

Looking for the birth certificate of my grandfather James Hughes born in Philadelphia around 1905 / 08 - do not know what area. He was brought back to Ireland as a young lad by either an older sister or aunt. He married my grandmother Cathryn Ferguson in Donagmore in Tyrone 1935, he served in the British army Pioneer corps can't get any army records, tried but not got enough info on him. They had two children one born in castlecaufield and one in Cookstown Tyrone. Jame's father was called Henry.

James O'Neill death record

Jane his wife died in 1902, I have traced a a lot of the Rooney's but at a dead end with trying to find Mary McAvoy O'Neill's and her husband Robert's death record.
Because it is recorded that my great grandfather James son of Robert was born in Drumard that led me to think that his father Robert was one of the Neill's of Drumard who is in plot 13 in Griffiths valuations. Perhaps the O was put back into the name when he got married in the RC church but then again there was a Mary McEvoy in plot 28 Drumard in Griffiths valuation could this have been Robert's wife's mother or grandmother and could another Robert O'Neill from somewhere else came in and married Mary McAvoy ?? On the face of it I would go with Robert Neill from Drumard but can't prove it, In the Derryloran COI records I found Roberts Neill's going way back to the early 1800's. The only Robert out of these Neill's who fits the time frame is Robert Neale born to William and Isabella Neill 1838 which would have made him 25 when he got married. BTW I did find a death record of a Mary O'Neill Gortalowry Cookstown 1887 and present at her death was her daughter Ann but again no idea if this was her. And also on James O'Neill's marriage cert it says father Robert O'Neill mill worker, would they still do that if James father Robert was deceased
