Hi,
The GRO Birth Cert for Lillie Charlton, 1896-Lanchester-Q3-Vol 10a-Page 289, reveals her parents are George Charlton, Surveyor & Margaret Thompson.
Thus this birth is not relevant to the Lillie Charlton listed as Daughter, age 5, born in Leeds, Yorkshire, in the 1901 Census for William Charlton & Alice Charlton nee Naylor. The 1911 Census lists Daughter Lillian Charlton age 15, born in Redcar, Yorkshire.
William Charlton & Alice Charlton nee Naylor, are recorded as living at 22 Grove Street, Stockton-On-Tees from the 1881 Census until their deaths.
The 1902 School Record for Stockton Bowesfield Lane School, Durham, lists Lillie Charlton, DOB:3 Nov 1895, father William Charlton, address: 22 Grove Street, Stockton-On-Tees.
The 1904 School Record for Stockton Bowesfield Lane School, Durham, lists Lily Charlton DOB: Nov 1895, father William Charlton, address: 22 Grove Street, Stockton-On-Tees.
On 3 Nov 1895, when Lillie/Lily Charlton is listed as being born, Alice Charlton nee Naylor was 51 years old. There are questions whether Lillie/Lily/Lillian Charlton is the daughter of William & Alice Charlton, their granddaughter, or was adopted by William & Alice, as the GRO does not appear to have a Birth Registration in 1895, 1896 or 1897, for a Charlton female child born to a mother whose family name is Naylor, Dickinson, or Smith and the child was born in Yorkshire, or Durham.
