Happy New Year
I am researching the Beattie family tree. My Grandad was David Beattie & he was born at the poorhouse 50 Townend Road, Dumbarton on the 30th June 1910. His mum Maggie died in 1918 & his dad John died in 1919.
Their 3 eldest children Maggie, John & Jessie were brought up by Cardross Parish Council until they were of age.. David & James were In foster care in Balfron. Hugh started off in foster care before going to quarriers orphanage.
I am assuming the three eldest were in Bloomhill childrens home & I have enjoyed seeing all your posts and comments.
