The street to Middleton from Ballingdon would not have had many houses. There is now an estate of houses, the reason that Ballingdon Hall was moved up the hill away from the new houses in the 1970s. A medieval house on rollers, worth trying Mr Google to see more on this.
The name Beer is often found in the area.

Do you have them in 1881? Mum and dad are on the same page as Cornelius and Elizabeth in Bethnal Green.

Hello EMNesling, my husband's godparents were Bob and Betty Nesling of Bedfield. Any connection?

Bellevue Asylum was always a Private Asylum with just a few residents. Map shows location and more info on Borin's wonderful web site :-)
There is mention of a Post Mill.

As well as the parish church of Saint Bartholomew, there were two chapels in Orford, one to Independents and the other Primitive Methodists. I know the latter is still there, will have a look for the Independent next visit.

Pretty sure the Francis Wight mill is one at Victoria Mill site, but that pre-dated that particular brick tower mill.

There was a Post Mill before the Tower Mill in Victoria Mill Road in Fram.
We have a picture drawn at the time that shows it quite clearly.
