I had a feeling I would have to send for my fathers birth certificate. As you say Smith is not one of the easiest surnames to research especially if you have no info. Thanks gain Barry :-[

;D I'm very new to this. Someone has traced my mums side back to 1805 but I would like to trace my fathers side back. I don't have much information  >:( apart from my Dads name was Reginald William John Smith and was born in Lutterworth in 1919 and his Mums maiden name was North, I don't know her christian name. She also had 2 other children Fredrick who lived in Nuneaton who married someone called Florence (Flo) and Jean Smith who married her Cousin George and lived in Lutterworth. How hard do you think this could be?  ??? Can anyone give me any tips how to get started please. Thanks Barry
