Hi Rosie,

This is on the receipt "One lair 5 O 146".  Do you think it is the lair number? I have attached the receipt (I hope). I was then wondering what is my next step to find out where it is located in the cemetery.

Thanks so much for your reply.

kind regards

Andrea

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help. me. I am visiting from Australia next year and want to visit the grave of my great grandfather James Henderson. He died on 21st January 1901 and his lair was purchased by his wife on 28th January 1901. I have included the copy of the receipt. If someone could let me know how I could find his grave I would be most grateful.

kind regards

Andrea

Dear Capricorn,

You are 100% correct!! Thank you so much. My great grandfather lived at 8 Caledonian Street and his wife was Margaret Henderson and that is who paid for the lair. I can not begin to thank you enough - I would have been visiting the wrong grave next year. I will pass this information on to my cousin here in Australia, she is also interested in our family history.

Once again thanks - it is just wonderful that there are people out there to help you when you hit a dead end.

best wishes

Andrea

Hello

I was wondering if anyone help me with information regarding the lay out of the Eastwood Old cemetery. I'm looking for my great grandfather buried there around 1901. His name was James Henderson, he was 30 and was killed in an accident. He was a carter on the wharves and was kicked in the head by a horse. I live in Australia and am coming over to Scotland next year. I would love to find his grave and pay my respects. I would like to find the location of the grave if it is possible.
Thank you.

Andrea
