I'm not sure if the addition of my reply and question about the marriage of John Stapleton and Bridget Maher was the trigger to your responses, but am believing that it was (I can't find my actual reply post).

Does anyone want to take a shot at deciphering this record?  If I'm not mistaken, I think that there may be a mention of a dispensation in the record - but the image is certainly not clear.  I edited it to be as clear as possible ... My initial translation would be:

"Married by Rev ... John L Stapleton to Bridget Maher
il dispensation in 4'+4' ........
... Richard Russell + Mary Carroll"

This record was found in Irish Catholic Parish Registers for the Diocese of Cashel & Emly, Parish of Templemore, Marriages 1849-1881.  It is available through ancestry.com and also at NLI using this link:  https://registers.nli.ie//registers/vtls000632699#page/155/mode/1up
