Hi Dawn,

Catching up with some old posts - I believe Mary was from Alberbury. I have a marriage of William Partridge and Mary Burgwin 24 August 1819 in Pulverbatch. William is last seen on the 1841 census and all I have is Shropshire. Both born c1794.

I'm trying to locate a baptism record for William Street born c. 1800 - census gives his birth place as Minsull Vernon which I believe was in the Parish of Middlewich - can anyone help?

Thanks  :)

Thank you - there are several other entries in the church records for other members of the Middlesex Militia around the same period.

Not sure if this is the right board, but I'm trying to find out about the Middlesex Militia (1781) - would all serving privates have come from Middlesex? I have a marriage record in Liverpool that says the groom was a private in the MM. Why would they be based in Lancashire?

I have had some help via the Lancashire Board and was was given a great link to the Westminster Archives site, but am looking for some general background before I start looking for, what I think, will be a needle in a Haystack!

Many thanks for any information you may be able to give.....

Thank you  :)

Do you know if there are any militia lists available - I'm trying to find out where Thomas originated from (now assuming that it will be Middlesex as he was in the Middlesex Militia, but you know what they say about the word assume!!)

Lancashire / Middlesex Militia in Liverpool

Hi,

I have a record for a marriage at St. Nicholas Liverpool in 1781 it states that the groom was serving in the Middlesex Militia. The couple remain in Liverpool and have 5 children - I'm trying to find out where the groom (Thomas Parker) would have come from.  Would there have been a Middlesex regiment in Liverpool  ??? or can anyone of you knowledgeable people out there point me in the right direction!

Thanks,

Karen
