Hi Bronwyn and thank you for the marriage printouts - my Sarah was definitely a Catholic also.
I have found reference to her to-be husband's (Friedrich Reichel) departure from Tasmania in The Cornwall Chronicle 4/3/1863 Launceston Tasmanian Shipping News on the "Alma" departing for Invercargill, NZ the day before. She may well have accompanied him at that time and if you have found no trace of her in the Tasmanian records after early 1863 that might have been the case.
I'm continuing to trawl through the Tasmanian records to see if I can come up with anything else that might progress our knowledge. You have clearly been very diligent in your searches!
I have found a photograph of Sarah in a family group taken in 1915, the year before her death - she outlived Fred by many decades, living first in Southland, NZ and then in Wellington with her adult children when they also moved north.

Hi Lou,

It's been a while so hope you are still there.  Sadly, I've been unable find any copies of Sarah HILL's actual signature so can't help there. Have you managed to uncover any further details since your last post about her? I can give you details of her spouse and children if that might help although you may have already accessed them. I do suspect our 2 Sarahs are one and the same as the dates seem to fit. Just wish we could find out more...

Best wishes,

Robyne

Hi Lou,

A Sarah Hill from Tasmania (born County Clare) was my great-grandmother. She met my great- grandfather in Tasmania. He arrived in Hobart in  August 1855 on the Wilhelmsberg. He (they?)left for New Zealand in 1863 and he and Sarah Hill married on January 10 1864 in Invercargill NZ. She died in NZ in 1916. I have a copy of one of her son's diary when he visited Tasmania in which he mentions "an aunt" there. I wonder if this Sarah Hill is the person you are looking for?
