Hi - I am related to Reuben Holdsworth, and the Corrigan family too. Please have a look at my family tree which may be able to help -

Hi there - I did my friend's family tree for her - well part of it! A lot of the names you mention are very familiar, especially with the photographic links. I also recognise Nancy and Cora. I initially made her tree on 'My Heritage' but I don't know if it is still on there.

If you want to contact me directl, my e-mail address is (*)

Kind regards
Christine

Somerset Lookup Requests / Milowta? Somerset
« on: Monday 13 April 09 19:17 BST (UK)  »
Hi - it's me again!

I am seeking help either deciphering an enumerator's handwriting or locating a place in Somerset. I am trying to find out about the Elizabeth who I assume married William Clow b: 1789 - sorry no dates/location known. All I can find is that Elizabeth b: 1790 is shown as being the spouse of William on the 1851 census. It shows her as being born Milowta, Somerset yet I am unable to find this. I cannot find any details of their marriage either, it could be they were married in Clerkenwell/Middlesex/London.

I was wondering if any one can help please, I have tried all the usual site searches but am not able to find anything. So any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated please.

Many thanks
Christine

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Re: Look Up Request: Clow - London
« on: Wednesday 08 April 09 21:18 BST (UK)  »
Hi there Rootschat friends!

Thank you for all of your help on the above queries - it has opened up so many avenues for me to look at now. I am struggling to find the death of William David Clow b: 1858. I know it's pushing it after all the work you have done for me already but I was wondering if, in your searches, any of you came across of William David Clow please. I have found him on the 1901 census but not on the 1911 census. I have tried parish records, BMD, Family Org etc etc but cannot find him at all.

Once again any help will be greatly appreciated - many thanks
Christine

Hi Tati

Many thanks for your prompt response to this and for the information you have provided. The only reason I was opting for William is with the children having the surname Clow. I was assuming the children's parents were married and if their surname was Clow - it meant that their father had the surname was Clow. William is shown as a widower in the 1891 census and living with his brother.

I really appreciate the assistance you have given me with this. Thank you!

Census Lookup and Resource Requests / Look Up Request: Clow - London
« on: Saturday 28 March 09 19:16 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

Once again I am asking for assistance please. I am trying to find out who the parents were of the following children please:

1901 Census: The following are shown as grandchildren of John James Clow

Maud Clow 18
Lily Clow 14
Rose Clow 9

1891 Census: The following are shown as grandchildren of John James Clow

George B Clow 9
Maud Clow 8
William Clow 7
Lily Clow 5

St Bartholomew London City

I cannot find the births of the children on the BDM but I know that the son of John James Clow was a widower by 1891 but again, I have been unable to find details of his marriage in order to see if it was his wife who was the mother of the above named childre.

I know William was born in Clerkenwell and his parents lived in London. So any help, guidance, suggestions etc would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks
Christine
