No, she got married to William Purcell on 13 February 1906 in Manhattan.

He was Irish, according to the marriage cert.

Thanks for your help.

Her parents were Thomas Kavanagh and Selina Leader.   I would like to know what her life was like in London, if possible and whether she had any kids etc.

Hi Anna,

Anything at all.    I know she died in September 1929 in Barnet.

Thanks

Cathy

My great great aunt, Selina, married William Johnstone in 1916 at St Pancras registery office.    According to the marriage cert, she lived at 35 Harrington Square and he lived in AVC Barracks, Woolwich.   Would anyone know anything about where they both lived.

She is an interesting character.   I have an earlier marriage cert for her from 1906.   She was married in Manhattan, New York yet on her London one, she says she is a spinster.   Surely this is wrong?    I would love to find out more about her.   Can anyone help?

Occupation Interests / Diamond Merchant

According to family history, my great great aunt married a diamond merchant from Australia called William B. Purcell in Manhattan in February 1906.   She was born in Dublin and was a governess in Paris.   I would love to know their story.    Her name was Selina Vincent Kavanagh.   The marriage didn't last long as she got married again in London in 1916.

Can anyone help?

The Common Room / Purcell

My great great aunt (Selina Kavanagh) married William B. Purcell in 1906.    They were married in Manhattan, New York.   My aunt was born in Dublin in 1881 and she spent some time in Paris as a governess.   I would love to find out more about her and her husband.    The marriage obviously did not last long (either they divorced or he died) as she was married again, this time in London, in 1916.

I forgot to say that they were both born in Dublin.   Evelyn in 1879 and Selina in 1881.
