Would you happen to have info on Edward perhaps?
I can’t find you on ancestry but i’m not super familiar with the site. I do have a tree on there, i’ll Have to find my username to give you.
If Denis is my 3rd great grandfather and your 5th, how related would we be?

I read Denis was a convict before I found this post, however I haven’t found him on any convict lists.

My great grandmother was Vera May Kilmurray, her father was Edward Kilmurray who I’m fairly certain was the son of Denis - in Edwards obituary it says his father was Denis, but I’ve only just started looking into this branch of my family so haven’t found supporting documentation yet.

*all from the Hastings area - my mother grew up in Wauchope and Port Macquarie.

Hi! I see this is old but Denis is also an ancestor of mine, I’m fairly certain. Any chance you’ve made progress?

I would not say most of his descendants are in Sydney or the Hunter Valley, we are spread far throughout Australia.
I have Joseph’s family tree to his great-grandparents now with reasonable certainty if you’d like to message me. I contacted a family historian in Lancashire who had researched the Bridge family.

Just stumbled across this with my Auntie and Uncle here today as we were looking for the church where Llewellyn and Mary John are buried. I had already visited the Church and City Ganol Farm.

One of Llewellyn and Mary's children was John John who emigrated to Australia and changed his name to John Johns. He is my Great Great Grandfather.

St Davids Church in Bettws is where Llewellyn and Mary are buried and I do even have more information if this is still wanted. The farm was sold a few years ago and I think the old farm house may be demolished now, though I did see it still there in 2005 and not far from there are John family decendents still in Bettws.

I live near Aberdare now (moved from Australia in 2006) and would like to visit the church again to check on old records and surely would enjoy company if any decendents of Llewellyn and Mary would like to join me :D

The attached pic is me next to there graves :)

Peace, Mark.

I know this is an old post, just hopefully some John family descendants might see it!
I too am descended from John John, who changed his name to Johns, in Australia. However my research indicates his parents were John John and Mary Edwards. If anyone has any information that could confirm or deny this I would greatly appreciate it.

The posts on this thread are quite old.....but in case anyone is following -

My husband is a descendant of a Thomas Bridge (possibly the brother of John 1715-1746).

Thomas was born c. 1711/12 at Withins Farm, Hawkshaw and died there in 1787.  He was married to Nancy (Ann) Fildes in 1733 at St. Mary's in Bury.  They had 3 sons (that I know of) Thomas 1739, James 1746  and John 1749.

Hi KathyM, hope this reaches you. I'm unfamiliar with this forum so not sure I'm replying correctly.
I have information suggesting Thomas is John's brother but without knowing the names of their parents it's hard to verify, although considering they both lived at Withins Farm they must be related. However, I do have a family tree mapped out for Thomas which lists 7 children and expands to his great-great-great-grandchildren. If you'd like any info let me know.
