Hi Julia. That fact was incorrect. Here is the revised:
When William Vokey was born in 1788 in Somerset, England, his father, Philip, was 33 and his mother, Rebecca, was 15. He married Sarah Strickland on January 26, 1811. They had ten children in 20 years. He died on February 13, 1867, in Wells, Somerset, England, having lived a long life of 79 years, and was buried in Rodney Stoke, Somerset, England.
I live in Topsail, Newfoundland just outside St Johns

This is the same information I have as well. My email was to point out that William Vokey, that married Sarah Strickland, was born in 1788. :
“When William Vokey was born in 1788 in Somerset, England, his father, Philip, was 33 and his mother, Rebecca, was 15. He married Sarah Strickland on January 26, 1811. They had ten children in 20 years. He died on February 14, 1867, in Colony, Alabama, USA, having lived a long life of 79 years, and was buried in Rodney Stoke, Somerset, England”
The William Vokey born 1729 was married to a Sarah Welland:
“William J Vokey was born in 1729. He married Sarah Welland on June 13, 1779, in Witley, Surrey, England. They had one child during their marriage. He died in November 1783 at the age of 54, and was buried in Stepney, Middlesex, England.”
The first Vokey in Newfoundland I have is Philip William Vokey born 1755. He was married to Rebecca Kate Crane

Julia, William Vokey was born in Chedder, Somerset, England in 1788 according to the 1841 England Census
Married Sarah January 26, 1811
Sarah was born in 1789 in Somerton, Somerset, England.
The Vokey’s came to Newfoundland from England. It was two brothers that came here in the 1800’s I believe. They mainly lived in Trinity and Spaniards Bay Newfoundland
