I really need help navigating this Ireland research. I'm looking for the siblings of this Patrick Mcdonough, hes my GGrandfathers cousins grandfather, and all of the evidence I have says one of them is my GGrandfathers parentage, and I can't prove or disprove it until I find out more.

Below is all of the info I have on him, I need help in locating his family, parents/ siblings so I can follow them to see if one who was born in Ireland at some point changed the name to Macdonald and moved to Liverpool.

Patrick Mcdonough was born in 1791 in Ireland. He married Cecilia McCommiskey on May 8, 1815, in Liverpool, Lancashire, England.

They had 11 children.

The original parish records and actual Wills are on Ancestry.  So, here are a few questions for you to try to help you narrow it down.  The baptism was at Llangynwyd. 

1.  Have you checked for a burial of this Morgan Jenkin?

2.  Do you know if this Morgan Jenkin took his reputed father's surname or did he go by his mother's surname, which would make his name Morgan Morgan?  It was far more typical for a child to be known by the mother's surname in the case of illegitimate birth, than by the father's.

3.  Have you looked at the marriage(s) for this Morgan Jenkin?

4.  Have you looked for a Will for this Morgan Jenkin?

5.  Have you looked to find this Morgan Jenkin on census - if he was healthy he should have made it to the 1851 census?

6.  Have you recreated the entire family of this Morgan Jenkin, his children?

7.  What document do you have, right now, that leads you to believe that this particular Morgan Jenkin is your ancestor?  There are a lot of Morgan Jenkin(s) born in the 1770s that could also be your fellow.

8.  Does the marriage of your known ancestor (child of Morgan Jenkin) give any additional clues?

9.  Do you have the Will of your known ancestor (child of Morgan Jenkin)?  And, if so, does it name other relatives such as cousins, aunts, uncles, etc.?

10.  Do any of the other children of Morgan Jenkin crop up as witnesses to marriages of your known ancestor's (child of Morgan Jenkin) children?

Thanks for getting back to me.

1. I have checked for a burial which I believe I've found on May 8th 1858 in Llangynwyd, Glamorganshire.

2. As far as I can tell he went by Jenkin or Jenkins.

3. Morgan Jenkin 1775 was married to Jennet Thomas 31 Oct 1818 which I believe could be the correct record. Morgan Jenkin 1821 whom I have confirmed is my relative stated his father as Morgan Jenkins farmer Llangynwyd. 1841 census shows Morgan Jenkin Age65 Jennet Jenkin Age65  Evan Jenkin Age30 Morgan Jenkin Age20 Evan Jenkin Age6 (Evan age 6 in the son of Evan age 30)

4. Have yet to find any wills for anyone.

5. I have Morgan 1775 on 1841 census as stated above and 1851 census, Morgan Jenkin Age75 Jannett Jenkin Age75 Evan Jenkin Age42 Evan Jenkin Age16.

6. I've recreated this family tree, I'm very confident up to Morgan Jenkin 1821 and him stating on the marriage cert his father being Morgan Jenkin a farmer in Llangynwyd.

7. I believe this could be my Morgan 1775 but I can't be certain which is why I'm looking to confirm this person and continue moving backwards through the tree.

8. Mentioned above Morgan 1821 marriage cert.

9. Haven't found any wills yet, leads me to believe they were quite poor but I'm still looking. Would love some direction.

10. No children are listed as witnesses, only ones I'm aware of are on the two census records. I haven't found Evan Jenkin Marriage or records regarding the birth of his son Evan.

Can you be more specific please as to what information you are attempting to find?  For instance, do you have a proven lineage back to this baptism?

I'm quite certain that this Morgan Jenkin is my 5th great-grandfather. What I'm trying to find is more records that could help solidify this. Most information I can find online is difficult to access unless I'm in Wales and I won't be able to make it there anytime soon. I'm hoping someone could point me in the direction of where to look online to find more records for this time and place. Specifically Glamorgan.

Does anyone know where I could find more information from the family in question? Just trying to verify that they are in fact my relatives but I'm at a bit of a loss. Not sure how to access records this far back.

He still shows there on the 1935 Valuation Rolls.

The 1940 Valuation Rolls shows entries for a William MacFall at a couple of different addresses. His son William could well be one of these?
