Cardiganshire / Re: Evacuee records

To update this thread I still can't locate my Dad Joseph Grisdale in the 1939 census with the rest of his siblings as evacuee's in Aberystwyth. His youngest sibling Alan is at home in Liverpool but May Vera and Jim are together. Could my dad have been at the Isolation hospital at the time of the census?

Thanks everyone, I have all the census entries for John Sim. It is the marriage certificate itself that I am struggling to read.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Marriage Certificate

Good morning, can anyone help decipher this marriage certificate, some parts of which are difficult to read.  The marriage is between my 3rd GG John Sim and Mary Hodgson.

Thanks Colin. William Myers was married on 12th July 1807. He is described as a Yeoman. Based on his age at marriage this may put his actual birthdate as 1782. There is a birth entry in Whitehaven for a William Myers in this year with mother Hannah. No Father identified.

Thanks Colin. Just found an 1841 entry for Mary Myers nee Smith living back in Gosforth at Hedge Hill Cottage, Ling Bank. On the same page her son Issac is a farmer. What I an still unable to find though is the parentage of William Myers. The only possible link I have explored here is John Myers b 1752 and spouse Susan from Kendal?

Cumberland / Myers family Gosforth
« on: Tuesday 04 January 22 11:08 GMT (UK)  »
Good morning, looking for the parentage of my 4th GG William Myers born about 1785 in Gosforth. He may have married Mary Smith b 1786. They had Issac b 1807, Elizabeth 1809 and Hannah 1811.
William Myers may have died in Liverpool around 1841. For context, Issac Myers married Esther Bragg from the Parsonage Gosforth. Any information gratefully received.
