Thanks Tricia,
I find I did have William and the others you mention plus Jean and Margret.
William married Alison Finlayson 1715 in Prestonpans and had 5 children Beatrix, Janet, Jean, Anna and William.
I suspect William jr married Margaret Wadderston (Waterson) in Prestonpans 1726.
Regards,
David

Tricia,
I am a Forman and may be related from further back. I am studying the whole Forman family in Scotland and have just got to your area.
I did not have your William Forman (thank you), but I do have George 1724, John 1726, Janet 1728, James 1729, Janet 1732, and Robert 1734-1817.
There is also George Johnston (b 1794) and Barbara Forman.
If you haven't already, you can trace the  Forman branch you are involved with to living descendants in Melbourne, Australia.
I could also be interested in the Johnstons and may have some more questions in the future.
Are you related to the James Johnston who married Isobel Stodart (b. 1796) in Peebles?
Also, are you related to the daughter of Johnston of Hilton who married Sir Walter Pringle of Lochton, Lord Newhall? who was a son of Sir Robert Pringle of Stichill.

Back to looking for my Johnston/Forman Tranent/Prestonpans again.
Has anyone got further back with James Johnston m 1779 to Jane(Jean) Bird.
I know we have established  2 of the children Grizel - to Australia m MacFarlane and Watson(I have contact with 2 rellies)  and Sophia m George REID.

My Family - I have a James Johnston b Tranent 1761 to William Johnston and Janet Forman.
Haven't yet found him a wife  :-[
My James had siblings  George 1763 Jean 1765 b Tranent  then Mary 1768
William 1770 William 1774 Charles 1777. last 4 born Prestonpans.   Charles being my direct line.

Any snippets helpful.
Tricia

I believe the parents of Janet Forman were James Forman and Janet Begbie who married in Tranent in 1723. James was born in Prestonpans (Father John Forman; Mo: Beatrix Bane).

Hi Kristy
I have just been looking at your site and can tell you that an Elizabeth Callow was the informant after the death of James Wines on 15 November 1856.
Cheers, Sara

Hi Anne, great to hear back from you, but as you can see the system has not printed your email address. My last message was the first time I have used this site, so I am not sure what happens next. Over to you, Sara

Hi Anne, I am in Canberra. I am the great-great-great-granddaughter of Simeon Wines, son of James Wines and Rebekah Vagg. Simeon was sentenced to 14 years transportation in 1832, arriving in Hobart in February 1833.

I actually have a certified copy of the registered death of Rebecca Wines in South Petherton on 2 March 1860 (the death was registered on 9 March). More than happy to send you a copy if you haven't already got one. I would also be interested in exchanging any information about the Wines and Vagg families.

Looking forward to hearing from you. Sara
