Hi Alison & CP,
Many thanks for your kind help. The London family looks very like mine. My husband's ancestor Edward Scrivener, had a brother Cephas, father Job and mother Mary. He was 71 in 1905 when he died so should have been listed with his parents aged about 7 in 1841; it is a bit of a mystery.
I have not located a record of his baptism but this information may help me track it down. He seems to have left London for Australia about 1851 so may not be on that Census. He set up as a draper in Sydney so it would be surprising if this was not his family,

Hi,
From IGI, I have a Claudius Alfred Scrivener baptised at Saffron Waldon, Essex. I would like a check on the Saffron Waldon parish registers (possibly Independent) for verification and parents as well as a search for the birth of Edward Scrivener (about 1834).
Any info about Scriveners in that area would be appreciated,

I live in Sydney Australia and am trying to find out more about my Rumble ancestors. I found Joshua and Sarah in the immigration records and am sure he is related to my John Rumble (born Clavering 1823) who migrated to NSW in 1857. John had siblings with the same names as Joshua's children eg Emma and Hannah.
John's father was Thomas Rumble born Clavering in the 1790s. I know no other ancestors and am wondering if you have details on Joshua's ancestors. I have noted that his parents were John and Ann Rumble.
