Hello Wendy,

Thanks for taking the time to look for me, yes he is the Walter Pilley who was mayor of Hereford 1909-1910 and a local historian, I have visited his grave in Belmont Abbey, Herefordshire,  the Hereford monumental inscriptions state that there is also an inscription to him in St Francis Xavier RC
in Broad St Hereford and I was wondering if anyone had seen it.

Thankyou again,

John

Hi

According to the Herefordshire monumental inscriptions there is mention to Walter Pilley in the St Francis Xavier catholic chapel (maybe a plaque or something), can anyone tell me if they have seen anything referring to him there and what it says.

Regards

Hi,

My 3rd Great Uncle Walter pilley was Mayor of Hereford  1909-1910, in his will he has five joined properties named Barton Villas, can anyone tell me if these properties still exist and if so where abouts in Hereford they are.

Thanks

Hi
I am looking for the baptism of Mary Pilley born circa 1798, the only reference I have to her
is  the 1841 census which states that she was born in St James London. (maybe Clerkenwell ? )
Her parents were William Pilley and Sarah she also had a brother William born circa 1801 and a second brother James born circa 1807, any help would be appreciated.

regards

John
