Yippee the marriage certificate finally arrived today for John Hughes and Jane Williams married 8 Jun 1860. Johns father was Robert Hughes (a Carrier) and Janes dad was John Williams (labourer).  Need to try and find Robert (and John) on 1851 census if anyone can help?

Many thanks.  I called at Llanrhaeadr last week but they had the roads up through the village so didn't manage to stop.  I will be making a return journey though.

Montgomeryshire / David Lewis of Forden

After checking the 1841 census, I have my great great grandfather born around 1811 in Forden, Montgomeryshire. He married Mary (possibly Davies) around 1838.  I've tried to find his birth on Free BMD without success.  Just wondered if anyone can help.

Shropshire / Lewis family of maesbury

I am searching for information on the Lewis family from Pentremaes near Maesbury.
In November 1867 Mary Lewis (Spinster aged 18 years) daughter of David Lewis, General Labourer) married Henry Jones (Bachelor aged 24 years)-Farm Servant at The Old Chapel, Arthur Street, Oswestry. Witnesses were Cornelius Lewis and Hannah Lewis. Henry was my great grandfather. At the time of his marriage, Henry's father (also Henry) was shown as a deceased general labourer.
Any information would be gratefully received. I really don't know anything about Pentremaes

Shropshire / George Jones born Morda 24 December 1882

Well I'm picking up on the Jones side of the family where I left off in 2005 - getting nowhere!  So I am going to start again with my grandad, George Jones born Morda, Oswestry, on 24 December 1882.  His mother was Mary Jones (formerly Lewis) and father was Henry Jones who was a Corn Miller's waggoner.  Obviously he wasn't on the 1881 census but wondered if anyone could check out the 1891 and 1901 census to let me know where he was living and with whom.  I know he came to work at Halston Hall near Whittington as he was working there when he got married in 1911.  Many thanks for your help.
