Dublin / Royal Hibernian Military School - Dublin
« on: Monday 26 May 25 17:26 BST (UK)  »
Can anyone help?
I am trying to find a burial record for a WW1 soldier who is believed to have been buried at the former  Royal Hibernian Military School Protestant graveyard in Dublin.
John Lewis Richardson died on 31 Jan 1918 after serving with the Royal Dublin Fusiliers. He is known to be buried in that graveyard.
The School is long gone but (according to Wikipedia) it now forms part of St Mary's Hospital with the graveyard still in existence.
Does anyone know where the Burial Records can be found?
I would be very grateful for any help.

London and Middlesex / SYDNEY OWEN FRANCIS CALVER WW!
« on: Sunday 18 May 25 12:40 BST (UK)  »
SYDNEY OWEN FRANCIS CALVER died on 1 Feb 1921 after serving with the Suffolk Regiment. He lived at Priory Road, Hornsey with his wife Edith Eleanor Calver and died in the Hornsey Cottage Hospital.
Sydney Calver is entitled to have his resting place declared a War Grave - if proof of burial can be found.
Does anyone know where this Forgotten Soldier is buried?  Any help would be appreciated.

sgf28.
Do you happen to know whether the source which provided this data also gave his home address?
The only one I have seen is Gloucester Street, Salford.

THOMAS HUBERT MASON died on 23 Aug 1919 after serving with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers. Aged 28, he was the son of John and Mary Evelyn Mason of 2 Gloucester Street, Salford.
Thomas would be entitled to War Grave status but this is dependent on finding proof of burial.
Does anyone know where Thomas Hubert Mason is buried?
I would be grateful for any help.

Cork / ss Ardmore 11 Nov 1940
« on: Saturday 12 April 25 15:58 BST (UK)  »
As many will know the ss Ardmore was lost on the night of 11 Nov 1940 en route to Fishguard, possibly as a result of hitting a mine.  There were no survivors.
The bodies of two members of the crew were washed up on the Pembrokeshire coast and, it is understood, returned to Cork for burial. They were:
Frank O'Shea, Farranferris Ave, Cork and
Michael Raymond, Lower Oliver Plunkett Street, Cork.

Does anyone know where either of these two men is buried?
I would be very grateful for any help.

Strange coincidence  - two men called Wilfred Bates, two wives called Emily, both in West Houghton.
I was only aware of Wilfred Bates 200796. The mention of Hindley does raise the question as to whether we should be looking around Wigan rather than/as well as Bolton.
