hiya

im trying very hard with the old maps and im trying to work out what schools are in and around woodcote way in caversham, my grandfather was brought up in caversham but i never knew what school he went too. please can any one help me narrow it down to schools around that area. thank you

time frame is about 1930s as he was born 1924

There is a newspaper item in 1935 talking about schools in the Wokingham and Twyford Woodley area:

"... Mr. Peake (chairman of the sub-committee) said that all the schools in this area were Church schools and they were inviting the diocesan authorities to consider whether they could provide a Church senior school in each or either of the districts conderned. ..."

I know there was (and is) the Polehampton School at Twyford.

yes i know there is that one too because her father went there, she could of gone there as well im not sure, i just wondered if there way any others around twyford, perticularly close to ruscombe as thats where they were living at the time

this is my great grandmother emma born in stokesley. im looking for infomation on any photographers in stokesley yorkshire and any thing about the photo its self as there is no detail. i havent even seen one like this before

yes i have now looked it up on old and current maps and i feel you might be right, i mean hopefully when i get my great grandfathers ww1 record, i will give more of an idea but thank you that was very helpful, im assume it was some kind of cottage
