Hello,
I lived in Addis Ababa 1963-66 when Lees Mayall was Chargé d’Affaires (my dad was Military Attaché). I was 16-17 when I knew Lees and Mary but I remember them very well: they were a wonderful couple. I have a photo or two of Lees taken at cocktail parties at my dad's house, and if they might be of interest I would be delighted to scan and send them to you.
Lees was the most charming and gentle of gentlemen: an absolutely delightful chap. Mary was hilarious: the very caricature of the immensely upper class and yet incredibly down-to-earth lady. All "Bloody hell, where's m' gin 'n' tonic?" but a real darling.
