Not sure which message board to post this on so here goes.
I know that Nicholas Easton married Jane and I last found the family in Pottsville PA  in 1840-I think. Census only give numbers of family members and not names. Before that They lived in Little Mohoney Northumberland PA. Alexander Easton Later was found in Plymouth PA in 1880 with his mother Jane and Willie and Bessie. Alexander Marries Elizabeth Johns in 1897. The records in luzerne county marraiges only go up to 1885.  I found the record of the Easton/Johns marriage but it states Alexander's first wife was dead. So I know Alexander was single in 1880 and I looked though 1885 and found no record of the first marriage.  I am assuming the marriage took place in Luzerne county and his wife must have died there as well.  Not sure I'll ever know who that first wife was. I do know Alexander was methodist. But I would really like to trace Nicholas Easton back to Scotland and find out Jane's maiden name to trace her back to England.. I've looked on the web sites posted with no luck... And if this the wrong board - how do I get to the right one... Thanks
