I am a descendant of Andrew Noble and Margaret Masson. They had Isaac Noble (1835) and he had Margaret Noble who married Albert Roney. They had Phyllis Roney, who had my grandmother, Phillis Benson, in 1915. Isaac came to Australia and was a fisherman in Robe and he and Margaret are buried there .

Hi Joe, thank you for that info.  I am going to have to do more work on chasing my Chastain line back as I have found out that some Chastains went to Germany - there is a link somewhere of them obtaining financial help from the Swiss government.  My grandfather's family always said we were related to the Huguenots, so I think that is where the DNA link is from. Not being a German speaker and having a cousin in Germany who is not that interested in family tree matters makes it more difficult.

Hi, I recently discovered a Chastain link through 23andme and have been told my family descended from hugenouts.  My grandfather William Fredrick (born in ?1889/91) was a Leverenz and his father lived in Berlin, on the wrong side of the wall. I am unsure if the link is from my great grand father or grandmother and my contact in Germany (a third cousin) does not have much in the way of family history.  Since there is significance in the Chastain line for an unusual type of previously unknown dementia in the family and being a medical scientist, I am rather curious to discover our family connection. Any ideas of how I might be able to trace this?
