I will wait for an LDS connection to get them free. Paying £16.00 a shot is a bit pricey as quite a few will be only fairly distant cousins.
Cheers

The Common Room / Cornwall - Turn of 25th Century Genealogical Research
« on: Saturday 13 December 25 10:28 GMT (UK)  »
Some fellow oldies may recall Cyndi's List which referred us to many research sites such as https://www.haine.org.uk/wills/willsearch.php to discover microfilm in the LDS Family History Library archives (the main Haine site https://www.haine.org.uk/ in fact has more Wills and other genealogical finds!). Wills are important as they provide names of beneficiaries whereas Probate Calendar merely gives name and death date of Principal and Executor names.

I have a problem as closest LDS library to me is 70+ miles away and only operates for 4 hours on Saturday mornings. Another, nearer to me (40miles), closed down last year. I pray that some member of this message board will be able to discover the Wills I require. These are listed on attached spreadsheet which on Sheet 2 also provides a listing of Probate offices.

Alternatively, may I be provided with name and individuals email address of someone in an LDS library who may assist.

Thank you,

Regards

Will someone please look up for me whether The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has annulled or rejected Temple Document - my Google Drive
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xbUgHb0Z62nd1iY5XWTUTuPCwFx_iG4C/view?usp=sharing

This question is because, other than for dates and a few names, there are only relatively minor changes in the document as amended by me – my Google Drive https://drive.google.com/file/d/1QkvgYCJGKm6U8Gh1Iuvc4Z2XweReuHhL/view?usp=sharing

1. Name of wife of eldest son of John Gundry was Christian Jenkyn (Marriage not discovered but she is only age match based on two 1727 leases for Boderlogan. (the only other birth of a girl Christian that year was a Christian Pascoe who was also buried in that year)
2. Gideon belonged to another John Gundry whose wife was Grace (no surname - in Marriage register). The Will in noted 1734 Probate of John Gundry, senior, does not record Gideon - https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6XT4-S5

3. John & Avis had a son Richard who died in 1730

and https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6RCW-D1
to https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6RC6-5S  - this provides name of children not discovered in Baptism searches.

There no published trees for John & Avis but there are 2,500+ Ancestry Public Member trees for 3 merged John Gundry's married to a Grace Avis Tabard (a non-Cornish surname) with between 1 and 31+ children.

Please advise how I can get problem sorted out. I started communicating with the LDS Church in April of this year and today heard they"forwarded your concerns to our HQ people in Salt Lake and you should have some feedback soon. While I cannot provide a timeframe, I am hoping it will be soon enough."

Thank you

Thank you too Kay for the Map as it shows Tregadjack which John's younger son Henry (my 5th Great-uncle) left to his son Henry in 1795.
Cheers
