Just to let anyone on here know who doesn’t know already.

My grandad
John Anthony Allan of Hillend crescent
B:3/7/38 passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Queen Elizabeth.

His funeral will take place on Friday 17/12/21 @ 9:15am St.Mary’s Chapel Duntocher the family ask if everyone could please be in chapel before 9am to allow everyone to comply with the current track and trace and covid guide lines, the chapel will be restricted to 300 inside of the numbers are greater the service will be heard from outside in the grounds. We will then proceed down to the cemetery (Dalnotter) where he will be buried together again with my gran Leticia Allan (nee’ Malloy)at the family plot.

A silvery sad loss for the village.

John was born in 55 Hillend and spent most of his life in the street after bringing his own family up in 56 Hillend.

He was also a beloved member of the hardgate celtic supporters club and don’t miss many games at all.

A special father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be sorely missed.

Hail Hail
Rest in peace grandad

The family would also wish to express our deepest thank yous to all the kind words and all of the support that has been give.

Travelling People / Re: THURSTON ANCESTOR

I’m friends with a Thurston who is a showman (woman) there is and always have been a difference between gypsy Roma Irish travellers and showman and circus travellers tho.
Showman are inherent business men and have a base usually a wintering yard where it’s treated like a housing estate, each position pays council tax etc

Hi there if you could on me re Colquhoun lines. I’m doing a tree for an old family friend who still lives on part of her family’s estate that is a neighbouring estate to that of the Colquhouns and Campbell’s.
She is also descended from these lines.
