Just to clarify, the Parsons family are shown as Pearsons on the census. Catherine Reilly married Pat Parsons in 1887. The lady who died in 1928 Galway may have been Catherine’s sister, Mary born 1856 to Martin Reilly and Judy Roche. Most of the other Reilly’s in Pollremon became O’Reilly’s in Whitwick, Leicestershire.

Mary Kate I think would be your grandmother's first cousin. Have sent you a PM with some details; think you need to log in and click 'My Messages'. Let me know of any problems.

I never met your dad but we knew of each other, believe he wrote a book. Once went to a Historical Group event but was told your father had just gone. Will try to awaken his 3rd cousin in Lancashire (they used to be in touch, she is also related to me) and send you a PM. Cannot help with Edward/Edmond after 1911.

My grandmother was from the parish, I know of this family. They lived in an area of the townland known as Polnagat. Local tradition has Patrick Reilly married to Mary Tarmey. Their son Luke married Bridget Quinn, whose daughter Mary Kate married a distant cousin of mine, too distant to prove. Also, Patrick had a sister, Bridget Reilly, she married Patrick Murphy in 1866, her father Luke was deceased.

I believe that a gentleman from Whitwick, Albert used to visit these families years ago. You may be connected to him.

Immigrants & Emigrants - General / Re: byrne of ireland

Just noticed this post. A Patrick Byrne and Bridget Murray were married in 1839, Kiltullagh parish, Co. Roscommon. Kiltullagh parish includes a Ballinlough but the church there was not built until later. They would have been married in either Garranlahan or Cloonfad church. They had a daughter Catherine in 1857, understating one's age/birth year was normal for Irish people of that period.
Griffith's valuation of Kiltullagh in 1854 has seven Patrick Byrne's. http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/roscommon/kiltullagh.php

Just to add to the confusion. There is a potential marriage in 1871 Rathkeale district of Johanna Kirby to John Gleeson, hope the links work.
