William and Mary Wilson possibly this couple buried at Stapleton?

To the memory of Mary wife of William WILSON who died at Kirkcambeck April 12th 1852 aged 37 years. Also the above William WILSON died at Nickes-hill Oct 13th 1872 aged 65 years.

Yes, I did some research on the Graham family involved some years ago, I think William Graham had the sympathy of the court, being a good looking young man (and attacking gamekeepers was a fairly common occurrence as well). But the Grahams were related to a few families in the area, so living in Ainstable after the trial must have been hard for Francis Boustead.
He and his wife appeared to have stayed together, and it is quite possible they had had an irregular marriage in Scotland, but the marriage registers from the Gretna "priests" don't have much information on, so its probably not worth the time spent trying to find it.
I've researched several familes who claimed to be married when they weren't, one had a spouse in an asylum: one had a violent husband and ran away with a lover and changed her name, and the other had a husband who was already married to someone else but separated. So claiming to be married when you are not is not always because you don't want to, you might not legally be able to get married again.
an interesting family to research though!

A Frank Boustead of Ainstable was a witness in a fairly notorious  trial in 1857, of a William Graham tried at the Carlisle Assizes for murder, I'm guessing that could be your man? His wife was named then as Sarah Boustead. Not much help though in finding the marriage, sorry.

Finding irregular marriages can be very difficult, there being several different registers in different locations, and if you do find one it doesn't usually give any more information than you already know. But its worth searching a bit earlier than you expect, incase either Sarah or Francis had been married previously, especially if you think William is not Francis Boustead's son - Sarah could have had a brief previous irregular marriage, which prevented her from marrying again.

To the memory of James CHURCH who died at Park House July 3rd 1854 aged 75 years. Also of Jane BRODIE his wife who died September 14th 1853 aged 75 years. The memory of the just is blessed. Also of their daughter Eleanor who died at Carlesgill 20th February 1873 aged 82 years. Also of their daughter Margaret who died at the Manse Cupar Fife 31st of March 1876 aged 66 years. Also of their daughter Mary CHURCH who died at Clinthead Langholm 25th July 1893 aged 76 years. He giveth his beloved sleep.

John Little and his wife Jean Birrell are named on a gravestone at Gretna Old Church; when John Little died in 1845 he was of "Guards Mill"  - the Carlisle Journal reports a marriage in 1844 in Kirkandrews on Esk between Robert Benson, draper of Carlisle, to Mary Ann Little, daughter of Mr John Little of Guards Mill.

(I think Guards Mill is actually on the English side of the border though).

Unfortunately being wartime they would not publish many details - the same details were in national papers as well: the Daily Record added: "At the factory yesterday afternoon the under-manager would give no details to the Press and at the hospital no statement could be made." I'm sure there will be documents about the explosion somewhere, but they won't necessarily be released to the public yet.

There is a story in the Dumfries and Galloway Standard 14 Feb 1942 about a Mrs M Welsh of Carlisle who died in an explosion in Scotland, don't know if that would be the same lady?

And in the 1861 census on ancestry, the surname has been transcribed as Cankpatrick. Roseannah appears to be a widow with a long family including John, aged 10.
