Thank you Jonathan

The Galifeant side has been very elusive but it's gradually falling into place. I think the spelling variations are a bit of the problem.

Is Galifant one of your interests too or was it just the location? I see Webb is on your list of names - it's my surname too but my Webb's all come from Whitstable in Kent (traced back to 1760's so far).

Regards and thanks again for the info

Thank you - I have seen the 1861 census on line. I have since discovered Daniel chapman had moved to London before 1861 so have searched there but not found him yet.

thanks for the info anyway.

Thanks very much Angela

I usually keep all info such as this - you probably know yourself but what seems to be irrelevent at the early stages turns out very useful later on.

There is certainly a lot of movement between the Kent and Devon ports judging by the census's I've looked at.

Thanks again.

Devon Lookup Requests / 1841 or 1851 census Brixham

My great great grandparents are missing from the census at home (Whitstable, Kent) but I found some indication that they may have been connected with the Brixham Coastguard during this period.

Would it be possible for someone to check these census' for the following:

George Webb  b.1791 Whitstable
Frances Webb b.1791 Whitstable
Henry Webb b.1825 Whitstable

Thanks for your time.

Thanks to both of you for this info.

I've not had time to weigh up the info with the facts I've already got but it looks like it will be them - either way it's a great help anyway.

Thanks again  :)

Thanks Kevan, Geoff & Kate for the replies.

I must admit I don't know how long she stayed in Romford.
Her mother Ellen Clare died aged 90 in Kensington 1879.

I'm going to try to find out when and where George and Alice married.

In the meantime thanks for your input.

Dino

PS:- I like the Essex1841 site, Kevan - lot's of good links.

Hello

I am trying to findout more about my Gt-Gt-Grandmother Alice Clare born approx 1840 in Romford (although she sometimes puts Hornchurch). I believe her mother's name is Ellen and she was from Norfolk.

Any assistance would be gratefully received. Thanks in anticipation

Hello

I am trying to find more details of my gt-gt-grandmother Elizabeth Henrietta Haigh born 1843 Marylebone. Would someone be able to check the census' of 1851 or 1861 to see who she was living with (and therefore help me identify further members of the family).

Thanks very much in anticipation

Kes

Thanks very much for your message.

I found this since adding my post but was still uncertain as to whether it was the right family. I think I can safely say it is but was just waiting for that something else which collaborates it. Knowing that Kensington definitely covers Notting Hill is very helpful. Thanks

If you come across any other info I would be very pleased to hear from you

Best regards

Dino
