Thanks again Yorkslass

I guess some mysteries are meant to remain unsolved!
Thanks for your input on this.
It's good to know that someone else has drawn the same conclusion as me.
My brain has been puzzling over this for the last 15yrs.

Regards, Roses Lass

Hi Yorkslass,
Thank you so much for your speedy reply - much appreciated. We appear to have come to the same conclusions as each other but in 1851 where is Agnes? They've just got married, William is recorded as "unmarried" and Agnes seems to be unfindable - unless you know better.
Thanks again, Roses Lass

Hi trawdenboy,
This thread is quite old but I've only just joined so forgive me if it all seems done & dusted for you.
We seem to have a common ancestor in William Wilcock who married Agnes Read/Reed in Kendal and moved to Bentham circa.1852-1855.
Does your tree come down his son John's line?
I'd love to know where you've gone with this.
Regards, Roses Lass.

Hi Yorkslass,
Have you resolved your William Wilcock? I've only just joined, and I'm pretty useless at computer stuff, so please bear with me.
William & Agnes Wilcock are my gggrandparents. They married 23.03.1851 but where were they on Census night - 30th March? I can't find them anywhere.
I'm keeping an open mind as to whether or not the family in Holme in 1841 & 1851 is his. I'd love to hear if you've come to any conclusions.
Also, do you know anything about Agnes's father, the very elusive Edward Reed/Read? He seems to pop up out of nowhere, get married, have 2 children and disappear!  Regards Roses Lass.
