Lancashire Resources / Lancashire Rileys

Hi Everyone,
I tried this search some years ago with no luck, so I think it's time to try again.  I have a brick wall with my Great Grandfather Edward Riley.  He was born in 1851, place unknown, father's name Thomas, who died sometime before 1878.  Mother unknown .  Married Agnes Martin in 1878 and died in 1890. His daughter was born in October of 1890 and he was listed as deceased on her birth cert.  After his death, Agnes married John Houghton.  He and Agnes had 5 children.  My Grandfather Edward (b 1880), William (b 1882), Thomas (b 1885), Patrick (b 1888), and Annorah (b 1890).  All born in Wigan. His last known address was 4 Lord St, Ince-in-Makerfield.   No other family information prior to 1851.  No information on his death, or where it occurred.  He is definitely not the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Riley of Bury. I haven't found him in any of the Wigan cemeteries.  Any information would be greatly appreciated.  I have more information on his wife and children.

In checking my tree I show that in the 1911 census, Agnes is listed as being married to John for 18 years putting their marriage about 1893.  Her daughter, this time called Ausra though I'm sure it's actually Annorah, listed as 2 years old.  I also got a birth date for her of 19 Oct 1890 from her Social Security application.

Thanks to you all for your quick responses.  I'll try to answer with what I know (or think I know).  I saw the entries in the census for the Riley's in Bury.  I'm not sure if they are the right ones.  Rooting out the answers is more difficult from Pennsylvania when one only has the computer.  Agnes did marry John Houghton, I believe in 1892.  Edward has been difficult to track through the years.  I found Agnes and my Grandfather Edward as a baby listed as visitors at the home of William and Annie Calland in Wigan.  No sign of Edward. In fact I've never found Edward Snr in any census.
Annorah was the last child I found.  She married, lost her husband in WW I, moved to Pennsylvanian and remarried.  Edward and Thomas also immigrated to America.  I lost track of Patrick though he may have married an Elizabeth Cooney.  The family was in Burnley after Edwards death and Agnes' marriage to Houghton.  My grandmother was born there (Ellen Jarvis). She and my G-father were married there and and left from there for America.  I'm short on information because the family never spoke of the "Old Country" or the family left behind.  Didn't know that Annorah lived about 60 miles from us when I was growing up until I found her records earlier this year.

Hi Everyone, This is my first post so be gentle with me.  I have run into a wall with my Great Grandfather Edward Riley.  Born in Wigan or Burnley in 1851.  Married Agnes Martin in 1878 and apparently died between 1889 and 1890.  So many Edwards it's difficult to find the right one.  He and Agnes had 5 children.  My Grandfather Edward (b 1880), William (b 1884), Thomas (b 1884?), Patrick (b 1887) and Annorah (b 1890).  All born in Wigan or Burnley. I have no information on his mother.  His father's name was Thomas who died sometime before 1878.  No other family information prior to 1851.  No information on his death, or where it occurred.  Can supply more recent information if needed.
