Paula

William was born in Weybourne and Sarah in Salthouse - as were Mary and Thomas. Florence though was recorded as being born in South Shields, Durham!

Neale

Thanks and I've now moved this over. Been a while since I've been here and forgot the setup  :)

Is there anyone able to help me as I've reached a dead-end in my research. I'm trying to find out details about the parents of Charles Millican, born in Wellingham around 1799 and died 1889 (in Pulham St Mary I believe). Charles married Sarah Rodwell 24 Oct 1825 and they had 6 children, Charles, Jane, George, Anna, Ellen and Rose. At present I have no information at all about his parents.

Many thanks!

Completed Census Requests / Re: 1841 Sussex Census Box

Thanks again Chris

For some reason the members of my immediate family don't want appear in the census (James Box aged 17/18) - though being a labourer it may be that he had to seek work elsewhere in Sussex - I know he was married to Jane and living in Cuckfield in 1851 and that he was born in Ardingly in 1824 but its the elusive years in between!

As always your help was much appreciated.  :)  :)

Hi again Chris

You very kindly helped me a while ago with some information on the Box entries in 1851 in Cuckfield. Am I right in thinking you might now have access to details for 1841? If you do then any information on Box families living in Cuckfield in 1841 would be excellent. I know its cheeky but any information on Box families in Ardingly in 1841 would also be of great interest to me as there are a few holes in my tree around this time.

Many many thanks  :)

Hi Chris

I have only just found this site and it seems you are a godsend to many people. Many thanks for helping us out.

I am researching the Box family and wonder if you can give any information on the following:

James Box (b. 5/8/1824 Ardingly) who married Jane Stoner (b. 9/6/1815 Ditchling). I do know about the lives of their children but all I know of them was that Jane died on 14/8/1875 and I have found James in the 1881-1901 censuses (living in Brighton in 1901). In all these censuses James has recorded his age as 3 years younger than he really was!

John Box (b 1819 Ardingly). James’s brother. Any information would be appreciated as there are many John Box’s around at this time.

Elizabeth Box. This is where I know very little! Elizabeth is James and John’s mother but neither son has a father recorded. There are three Elizabeth Box’s living locally at this time but I have nothing concrete to connect anyone of them. Any information at all would be invaluable.

All the best

Neale Box
