Yes I noticed the Somme spelling and thought of a coded message but then I noticed he spelt THINCK incorrectly, but not bad for 2nd language.
He seems to write that he will go to Anvours, ? and then onto the front again. At first I thought he meant Anvers (Antwerp) but my wife, who is a French speaking Belgian thinks it isnt'.  Anvers is a distance from Calais and then back to the front?
His army details/address seems to be listed between the lines but I am not knowledgeable about them.
Do you think Jacques was originally a Belgian refugee in this country before he enlisted and went back? This may be how he met Mollie.

Hi, I have just come across this post whilst researching a postcard I bought.
The card is addressed to Mollie Healey, IvyCottage, Ketley Town, Wellington, Salop and post franked 1914 by the Belgian Milutary Postes.  I dont know the senders name, but am guessing he is in the Belgian military.

Have you looked at London Lives 1690-1820?

There is a Thomas Hall of 69 Bishopgate Street who testifies 1804/1806/1814 robberies from his store.
On 6 December 1815 a George Hall who says he is son of Thomas Hall of 69 Bishopgate Street.....

My Thomas was at 103 Bishopsgate Street and shows on Tallis Street Views, but I remember seeing another Hall further along the street.  I'll check that.
