Not sure if this post is still active but my grandfather was Laurence Fortune of Ballyduff, Ballycanew. I remember hearing about the Fortune pub growing up. His brother ran the pub. Laurence was the oldest boy in the Fortune family, his father was Thomas Fortune and Mother was Ellen Rourke. After the war of 1922 he went to Scotland with his wife and had a family there. I got my DNA test done and I'm on FamilyTreeDNA and ancestry.ie I would love to connect with other Fortune descendants.
