New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: Children of James WALSH(E) and Ann DEMPSEY

Hi

Have spent another big day searching and have found what may be the death of James Walsh. In past papers there is a death of James Walsh on the 12 September 1887, due to an accident. Also found a note saying he was buried in Greymouth so will have to go back to the Council tomorrow.

Hi Helen

Yes my mother in law is Hugh and Betty's daughter. I may have found the immigration and birth of Nancy. At the moment am having major internet issues so searching is a nightmare.

Thanks Tania

Hi thanks for all the information on this post. Just going to give you all a headache, family information of Ann Walsh wife of James Walsh. Ann was know to family as Nancy, when my mother in law talked to Harriet (her Grandmother) years ago she was given the information that Nancy was also know by Agnes and Mary. She knew there were things that were not to be talked about.

Went to the cemetery this week to see Ann's grave, yes I found it and it is the one pictured in findagrave. Local council records are not online so every search is via the council. Council records only gave me that she was recorded as Annie Walsh (headstone says Ann) records also show that there is no headstone. I had the right location as they drew me a map.

Hugh Henry Hambleton married Harriet Walsh(e) 2 June 1909 in Wellington. Children Alison Gertrude 10/2/1911. Hugh Galbraith 22/10/1913. Nancy Durelle (after her grandmother) 8/11/1917.

Hugh Galbraith Hambleton married Betty Gwen Sycomore nee Moss in Wellington.

Hope this helps.

Hi am interested in contacting people Helen, Minniehaha, and others in this post as am married to the great grandson of Harriet and Hugh Hambleton. We found this post today which made my mother-in-laws Mothers Day. We are still living in Greymouth and plan to go see the grave of Ann Walsh hopefully tomorrow. Tania Beynon - coasterx3. Thanks
