Well I think the lady holding the child is the oldest and that the man to her right and the lady to her left are married to each other.
Interesting!

I've not much to add - only the ladies blouses from link below suggest +/- say 5 years of Edwardian times.
This is helpful - keeps the timeline broadly around the family gathering in 1912 [if they are the Livinsgstones].

Thank you for the help with dates. You are right that it means some things about the people don’t line up. Such a great photo and an even greater mystery!

Thank you. This is helpful.
There were a number of musicians in the family. Two sons David and Harry, were part of Buffalo Bill's Cowboy Band when they traveled through Europe 1990-1992. Both played the clarinet. Thomas played the cornet. A newspaper clipping about the birthday celebration says that father John "was at one time the leader of the Scotch drum corps of Taftville (Connecticut)."

Lisa - thank you for the idea of looking for family members clustered near each other. Makes sense!

The attached photo was passed on to me with no identifying information other than the notation "Buckley Clan". I believe the photo is of my LIVINGSTONE ancestors who gathered in 1912 to celebrate the 80th birthday of CRAWFORD LIVINGSTONE, nee Spencer. The Livingstones came to Connecticut from Glasgow in 1873. A newspaper clipping confirms the event as taking place in September 1912 in Taftville, CT, and lists some family who attended from out of town.

I believe the elderly couple seated center are my g-g-g-grandparents JOHN LIVINGSTONE (1833-1917) and CRAWFORD SPENCER LIVINGSTONE (1832-1916) however I have no other photographs of them to be sure. I would like to confirm if possible by using clues from known photographs of other family members. Is this possible here? Can anyone help me confirm either way the identification of the following people in the photo? The second attached file includes photos of known family members.

I've listed their names, birth year, and my guess at who they might be in the "clan" photo:
Mary, b. 1854 (seated to the immediate right of the elderly woman?)
Margaret, b. 1858 (seated to the left of the elderly gentleman, dressed in black?)
David, b. 1869 (seated on the far left?)
Thomas, b. 1863 (holding the cornet?)
Alice, b. 1875 (seated far right?)
John, b. 1880 and Clara, b. 1882 (standing at the far right, immediately behind potential Alice?)
Sarah, b. 1877 (standing immediately behind the elderly woman?)
Grace, b. 1908 (small child standing far right, with potential Alice?)
Jesse, b. 1906 (girl seated on ground in front of elderly woman?)

Thank you for any assistance you can provide!
Wendy

Lanarkshire / Lookup request: Lair owner #13520 Southern Necropolis
« on: Saturday 01 April 17 17:43 BST (UK)  »
Does anyone have access to a register of lair owners for the Southern Necropolis?  I have a burial in 1860 at Southern Necropolis, lair #13520. The owner is listed as Alexander Taylor who appears to be a "friend" however a listing of other burials in that lair would be good to have.
Thank you!

Wendy, just adding this link from another forum www.talkingscot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=17134 as this has a little more background on John and wife Crawford.

Monica  :)
Thanks Monica - that was my original post on Talking Scot! I've been looking for quite some time but was just refreshed this morning when I found the DC for young John with the notation about the Southern Necropolis. I thought maybe a little window had opened for me!

I appreciate the time you took to look!
