Canada Lookup Request / Re: Walter Allcock of Cobourg

Walter also had a sister Lily who was my Grandmother. She was born April 29, 1907 and died in 1994. We all thought he followed his sister Maud to Cobourg but we never knew what he did when he got there. If you need information on the Allcock side let me know and I'll see if I have it.

Sam Preval of Montreal was the nephew of my Great Grandma Amy Preval who Married Alfred Allcock. I was not aware that he had been married. About 1963 The 4 Allcock sisters reunited in Seacroft, Yorkshire an Sam, their cousin was there. I would also appreciate seeing the photos that you have.

The 1881 census shows Sarah Bleasby, unmarried, as houskeeper for John Moxon. There are also three Bleasby's listed as either son or daughter which means they are John's children or he adopted them.

There is a death listed for a Caroline Moxon age 54 in Pontefract September Quarter 1900. This could be John's first wife since the second marriage, to make it legal, is at the same time. I could not find a census listing for Caroline in either the 1881 or 1891 census.

On May 29, 1882 at All Saints, Wakefield Sarah Bleasby age 32 married John Moxon age 37 a widower and a labourer. Fathers were Richard Bleasby, a painter and William Moxon, a labourer.

On October 13, 1900 at All Saints, Wakefield Sarah Bleasby age 50 married John Moxon age 55 a widower and a labourer. Fathers were Richard Bleasby, a painter and William Moxon, a labourer.

If anyone has any ideas as to why two marriages I would love to hear them.

Yorkshire (West Riding) / James and Hannah Bleasby

James Bleasby married Hannah Stalker in 1855. Both James and Hannah died in 1864 in Castleford. Both deaths are listed in the March Quarter of 1864 James on page 83 and Hannah on Page 79. I am hoping to find out how they died since James was only 30 and Hannah was only 26. They left 4 children aged 3 to 8 behind.

I believe Frederick Thomas Chignell was born in 1873 in Buckinghamshire. I can't seem to locate him on any census and I don't have the marriage certificate (married 1901).

Edith Crew born 1879 in Stanley, daughter of Alfred and Mary Crew marries Frederick Thomas Chignell in 1901. After this Frederick disappears, I can't find anything on him. Did he die did he leave? Edith is listed in the 1911 Census, although I don't have access to the details but there is no Frederick. Can anyone check the 1911 Census for me and see if anyone is livivg with Edith or if she might have gone back to live with Alfred and Mary?
