I am also tracking my family tree, surname PRIOR, but I have only got back as far as 1801 to a WILLIAM PRIOR who married a SARAH PLAYLE c1801, they lived & had their 7 children in Toppesfield Essex UK. Is anyone else connected to a PLAYLE in Toppesfield Essex?

Many of my female ancestors, surname PRIOR & others in Toppesfield Essex UK in 1800's, listed 'straw plaiter' as their occupation in census listings, however this was a prevalent occupation at the time and distinct from 'straw bonnet' making.
