Thank you to Sarah.  I am not being offered the option to attach when I look at the Reply format, only "Don't use Smileys", "Return to this topic", and "Notify me of replies by eMail". I rather think this has to do with EITHER (a) I am posting in reply on someone else's original question or (b) I haven't posted often enough to qualify to attach. I think the same applies to my attempts to PM. So I hope that 1973Mossi contacts me to get a scan of his forebear's letter.   Hugh

re: election in 1896. I have found my scan of the letter from Mr Mossop 28 Oct 1896 on Swansey Mill letterhead, but I have not yet found the original - if I still have it.

I really can't work out how to attach things to a message, and they can't be attached to Private Messages anyway.

Hi Ian at 1973 Mossi.        re: letter John Mossop about James Nuttall Boothman.  It is so long since I posted that I may take a while to find the letter.  I'll look, and post again, unless I have found out how to send a private message by then!    Hugh

I have a letter on Swansey Mill notepaper, signed John Mossop, dated Oct 28th 1896, saying that his uncle Mr Boothman agrees to acting as returning officer in Municipal Elections St Matthews Ward.

I can supply a scan if anyone is interested. I haven't used this site long enough to know how to attach it!

Hugh
